To grow the Chinese holiday market, the Royal Caribbean International created three cruise ships with home ports in Shanghai, Tianjin, Hong Kong and Xiamen. The last of the three, Ovation of the seas, has welcomed APG as sound system of the Two79 room.
This high-technological and luxurious ship, Ovation of the seas, owns the Two79 room, acting as a concerts venue and lounge bar during the day. For this venue, the sound system had to be different from the other rooms due to the location of it, right above the propulsion which created a jelly effect, meaning a movement sensation and noise.
To overcome this challenge, the Royal Caribbean International company selected 13 MX1GN and 22 DX8 loudspeakers, all featuring an anti-damp treatment, due to its great phase coherence and smooth conical dispersion, but also due to their discretion.
For the subwoofers, 4 TB215S and 6 SB115-M2 have been located in the coffee tables on the deck to concentrate the low energy on the stage and surrounding seating area.
